Yaseen received his B. Sc. degree from the Plant Protection Department, Agricultural Engineering Faculty, Aleppo University in Syria and received his M. Sc. from the same University in History of Applied Science.
Yaseen has worked for the International Center for Agricultural Research in Dry Areas (ICARDA) for five years as a research assistant and then as a research associate for the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) funded project to develop conservation agriculture in northern Iraq and Syria.
Yaseen received an ACIAR John Allwright scholarship to undertake his PhD at The University of Western Australia which he commenced in July 2014.
After obtaining his PhD, Yaseen worked as a Research Associate in the Agronomy Team at AHRI. At the beginning of 2022, Yaseen started in a new position with Kalyx Australia.
